How long is the FAA A&P prep course?
The accelerated course is an intensive 10-12 day instructor-led program at Freeman Field (3JC) in Junction City, Kansas. Plan extra days beyond Day 12 for final O&P testing with the DME.
What does tuition include?
Tuition includes early LMS access, in-person instruction, the FAA General, Powerplant and Airframe written exams, hands-on O&P preparation and the initial DME fee. Retest fees are not included.
How much is tuition?
Tuition is $4,500 through October 31, 2026 and $5,000 from November 1, 2026. A $500 deposit reserves a seat and unlocks LMS access. Affirm pay-over-time is available.
Are deposits refundable?
No. Deposits are non-refundable because DME availability is secured 3-4 months out. A seat is guaranteed only after a deposit or full payment.
Where are the written exams and O&P held?
Written exams are at Manhattan Technical College. O&P is coordinated through the MAS DME network and may be on-site, in Salina or in Wichita.
What are the FAA eligibility pathways?
At a high level, students may bring an FAA Form 8610-2 endorsed by the FSDO, Part 147 AMTS graduate documentation or a JSAMTCC Certificate of Completion. The experience pathway is 18 months for one rating or 30 months for both. The FAA makes the final eligibility decision.
Does the course replace FAA eligibility requirements?
No. The prep course does not replace eligibility requirements. Confirm your pathway before reserving a seat.
Can ArmyIgnitED or Credentialing Assistance help?
Matta Aviation Services is an approved vendor for ArmyIgnitED and Credentialing Assistance. Eligible students may save up to $2,000. Students are responsible for the remaining balance, and payments take about 45 days.
Is lodging available?
Optional lodging is a flat fee for the whole stay: $600 now or $700 from November 1, 2026. It includes furnished housing with Wi-Fi, laundry, a kitchen, student minivan access, MHK airport pickup, transport to lodging and a vehicle during the course. It is first come, first served and guaranteed when paid in full.
